The enigmatic and mysterious painter Hawk Alfredson arrived in the U.S. from Sweden in 1995, where upon he immediately gained notoriety among New York’s art scene with an impressive 20 shows within the first year. He currently lives and works in a room full of paintings at New York City's Chelsea Hotel. His art decorates the hallways and stairwells of the hotel in an ever growing, meandering display. Hawk’s highly detailed paintings have been exhibited in museums around the world; The Nordic Museum in Stockholm, Sweden; The Yamanashi Museum of Art, Tokyo, Japan; The Alternative Museum, New York City; and the Katonah Museum in upstate New York curated by the Whitney Museum.
